Vicious Cow… Why so much anger?

Well it all started when Kiki, alias Ciara Roosli, decided to exhibit her work on-line. The first step in setting up a website consists of setting up a web address. Unfortunately ‘kiki’ was already taken by wannabee kikis and using her own name was out of the question as nobody can actually spell it correctly. That’s what you get for marrying foreign nationals! The next obvious choice was to use Kiki’s pet name. Whilst most civilised partners would answer to ‘pet’, ‘love’ and others ‘honey’, Kiki or Ciara Roosli answers to ‘Vicious Cow’ (justifiably). Et voila - viciouscow.com was born.

Now more seriously. Kiki is a dedicated, diligent and skilled artist despite her temperament. From a very early age she loved creating - whether it was with paint and paper or plasticine. “She was always winning the prize of edible jelly watches in primary school” recalls an old classmate. Having finished school, Ciara went on to college where she studied Languages and Marketing. This was the thing to do apparently - sounded cool in the 90s. In the years that followed her graduation, Ciara worked in Switzerland and Paris where she worked for a textile designer on the business side of things. It was only in her early thirties when her partner - sick of her destroying unpaid household bills with her obsessive doodling - bought her oil paints, canvas and an easel, that she re-discovered something she had lost along the way…. her passion for art… and she hasn’t stopped creating since (well, when her two children or rats as she calls them actually let her do so).
